Ego and Archetype

Updated: Apr 5, 2021

As we approach 2021, what are your New Year's resolutions? The New Year brings personal ambitions of a "better, new me" but have you ever thought about what it really means to be you? We sometimes call it our "authentic self" or project it on our partners, "my better, other half". In Jungian terms, the "authentic self" is referred to as the Greater Personality or Self, a powerful psychic system or archetype distinct from the one we show to others, our ego, a personal sense of identity. The goal of an analysis is to reinstate the ego-Self axis or relationship. Both systems need each other if you want to achieve those ambitious resolutions and transform your life. Ego and Archetype is a Christmas stocking must have for anyone interested in the concept of the Self.

The workplace is a great stage drama of egos with conflicting, short-lived goals. Are you confident to show the real "you", and its more long-term transformative goals, within the workplace? #JungianBitsofInformation explores this question and more in a new, slightly delayed(!) website coming soon.

Wishing you a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

#JungianBitsofInformation a blog dedicated to exploring the unconscious in the workplace, specifically, the dynamics between the individual psyche and the workplace.
